Austin Relationship and Sex Therapy
Love Reimagined Therapy
Offering In-Person in Austin and Virtual Services Throughout the State of Texas
You've built a successful life together.
But your relationship doesn’t feel the way it used to.
I help couples work through conflict, disconnection, and intimacy so they can feel like partners again.
You can love each other deeply and still feel disconnected. Stress, parenting, busy lives, and the demands of everyday life can slowly chip away at emotional and sexual intimacy. Therapy can help you find your way back to each other.
Specialized Support for Modern Relationships
Busy Lives, Conflict & Disconnection
Life gets busy. Careers, parenting, stress, and everyday responsibilities can slowly create distance between you. The same arguments may become more frequent or intense, leaving one or both of you feeling frustrated, shut down, or unheard. I work with couples experiencing disconnection as well as high-conflict patterns to improve communication, break out of the same cycle, and reconnect emotionally and physically.
Desire Differences
Desire doesn't stay the same throughout a relationship, and that's more common than most people think. I'll help you understand what's changed, address desire differences, low libido, painful sex, erectile dysfunction, and other sexual health concerns
Consensual Non-Monogamy/Poly
I offer a space where you can openly talk about non-monogamy without worrying that you'll have to justify or defend your relationship. Together, we'll navigate boundaries, communication, trust, and the challenges that come with building the relationship that's right for you.
Maybe you're here because...
✓ You love each other, but you feel more like roommates than partners.
✓ You miss feeling attractive, playful, confident, or connected to your sexuality.
✓ You can't remember the last time you truly desired your partner or felt desired yourself.
✓ Every conversation revolves around work, kids, or the next thing on your to-do list.
✓ You're curious about consensual non-monogamy but aren't sure if it's right for your relationship.
✓ You want a therapist who understands LGBTQIA+, kink, BDSM, or open relationships without judgment.
Relationships don't fall apart overnight. They change slowly as work, parenting, stress, and everyday responsibilities take up more space. Before you know it, conversations become shorter, intimacy happens less often, and you start wondering what changed.
The good news is that it doesn't have to stay this way. You can have the emotional connection, intimacy, and sex life you've been missing.
Choosing a therapist is personal. Take a minute to meet me, hear about my approach, and see if I'm the right fit for you.
How I Help
Couples Therapy
You still love each other, but your relationship doesn't feel the way it once did.
Most of the couples I work with aren't questioning their commitment. They're wondering if they can get back the closeness, warmth, and connection they once had. Maybe the same conflicts keep repeating, or you've started to feel more like roommates than partners.
I believe you can find your way back. We'll explore what's changed, break out of patterns of conflict and disconnection, strengthen the way you communicate, and help you rebuild the trust, intimacy, and connection you've been missing.
Some of our goals may be to:
✓ Navigate conflict with less reactivity and more understanding.
✓ Break free from unhealthy communication patterns.
✓ Rebuild trust after hurt or disconnection.
✓ Better understand changes in desire and strengthen your emotional connection.
✓ Repair after conflict and reconnect as partners.
✓ Create a relationship that reflects your shared values and the life you want to build together.
Individual Therapy
Perhaps you've lost touch with the version of yourself that felt confident, desired, or truly like you.
Life has a way of pulling us in different directions. Major transitions, stress, relationships, work, family, and past experiences can leave you feeling anxious, low, or disconnected from yourself, unsure of what you need, or wondering how you got so far from the person you want to be.
Together, we'll better understand what's been getting in the way, whether that's anxiety, depression, or the weight of a life change, and break free from patterns that no longer serve you. You can reconnect with yourself, your sexuality, your relationships, and the life you want to create.
I offer a space to better understand yourself, strengthen self-awareness, and create lasting change.
Our work will focus on:
✓ Identifying patterns that no longer serve you.
✓ Better understand your emotions, thoughts, and reactions.
✓ Build healthier boundaries and stronger self-confidence.
✓ Navigating relationship and intimacy challenges with greater clarity.
✓ Managing anxiety, stress, and life's transitions more effectively.
✓ Communicating your needs with confidence and authenticity.
✓ Creating a life that reflects your values and who you want to be.
Sex Therapy
Has sex become another source of stress instead of connection?
Sexual concerns rarely have just one cause. Stress, medical concerns, relationship dynamics, life transitions, past experiences, and the way we think about sex can all play a role.
My goal is to help you understand the whole picture so sex becomes less about pressure and frustration and more about connection, pleasure, and feeling like yourselves again.
In sex therapy you will:
✓ Rediscover intimacy, desire, pleasure, and emotional connection.
✓ Better understand changes in desire and mismatched libidos.
✓ Address sexual health concerns, including low desire, erectile dysfunction, painful sex, performance anxiety, and other sexual concerns.
✓ Explore sexuality, including LGBTQIA+ identities, kink/BDSM, and consensual non-monogamy in a supportive, judgment-free space.
✓ Communicate more openly about sex, intimacy, boundaries, and your needs.
✓ Reduce shame, anxiety, and avoidance surrounding sex and intimacy.
✓ Create a sexual relationship that feels comfortable, satisfying, and connected.
✓ Feel more confident and at ease in your sexuality and intimate relationships.
CNM/Poly
Open Relationships & Polyamory
You may be thinking about opening your relationship, trying to decide if non-monogamy is right for you, or already in an open relationship and working through the challenges that can come with it. Conversations about trust, jealousy, boundaries, communication, time, and emotional needs don't have to be overwhelming.
My office is a place where you can talk openly without worrying that you'll have to explain or defend your relationship. Together, we'll create agreements, strengthen communication, and build a relationship that reflects your values, your needs, and the way you choose to love.
Some of the ways we'll work together include:
✓ Explore if non-monogamy aligns with your values and goals.
✓ Strengthen communication and navigate difficult conversations.
✓ Work through jealousy, insecurity, and unmet needs.
✓ Create healthy boundaries and intentional agreements.
✓ Build trust, emotional security, and accountability.
✓ Repair conflict and reconnect after ruptures.
✓ Navigate stigma, family, and societal pressures.
Hi, I’m Amy Palmer
This work is more than my specialty; it's my passion, and it comes from lived experience.
I've been on the receiving end of judgment and misunderstanding, and I've witnessed the pain it causes so many others. I know what it is to go through a divorce, to co-parent, and to step into the role of step-parent, learning how to build a family when the road there wasn't simple or what anyone expected. I've also known the deep grief of losing a teen, and I understand that some losses change you in ways that are hard to put into words. Along the way, I've had to defend who I am and the choices I've made more times than I'd like.
Whether it's around desire differences, open relationships, kink, or sexuality, too many people are made to feel broken or ashamed. Too often they have to explain and defend themselves, even to the people closest to them.
The world is full of assumptions about sex, intimacy, and relationships. The media often oversimplifies desire differences and consensual non-monogamy, while misinformation and stigma leave many people feeling isolated or convinced something is wrong with them. Finding a therapist who truly understands these experiences, without judgment, can be difficult.
I believe you deserve a space where you don't have to explain or justify yourself. My goal is to create that space by meeting you with curiosity instead of assumptions, respecting your experiences, and helping you build a relationship that reflects your values. Whatever you're carrying right now, you don't have to carry it alone.
